Sad love songs about the rain is what Vietnamese music is all about. American rappers rap about hustling and stacking cash. Korean girl groups sing about their oppa. Vietnamese singers sing about lost love and the rain. That's just how it goes.
Yêu Một Người Có Lẽ is a good example of what I would call a classic Vietnamese-style song. It's a sad love song -- better known as nhạc buồn in Vietnamese. It features singers Lou Hoàng and Miu Lê. I'm not that familiar with Lou Hoàng. I only know him as a singer who has appeared along side OnlyC in past songs. Miu Lê, on the other hand, is a singer that gets me excited. I love her OST work in Em Là Bà Nội Của Anh.
Produced and composed by OnlyC, Yêu Một Người Có Lẽ is a song that I like even though I don't enjoy listening to nhạc buồn in general. I'm a big fan of OnlyC. He has a way of making music -- that I consider to be very Vietnamese in nature -- sound modern and appealing to me. Slowly, I have found myself listening to more nhạc buồn mainly due to artists like OnlyC and songs like Yêu Một Người Có Lẽ that don't make me want to blow my brains out when I hear them.
