Sơn Tùng M-TP, the master of Vpop breakup songs, is back at it again. His latest work Chúng Ta Không Thuộc Về Nhau (We Don't Belong Together) is looking like it's going to be another hit song. You know what they say: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. So far in his career, M-TP has been slaying it with breakup songs like Buông Đôi Tay Nhau Ra, Âm Thầm Bên Em, Chắc Ai Đó Sẽ Về, Em Của Ngày Hôm Qua, Nắng Ấm Xa Dần, and Cơn Mưa Ngang Qua. It's crazy, man! All of M-TP's most popular songs are breakup songs. It's almost as if Vietnamese people love listening to sad songs about lost love....Of course, they do!!! There's an entire category of music called nhạc buồn that is all about sad love songs.
Some things never change. Breakup songs will always remain popular and Vpop anti-fans will always seek to discredit popular Vpop artists. After watching Chúng Ta Không Thuộc Về Nhau, I already knew M-TP haters were going to come out of the woodwork for this one. Some of these anti-fans are too far gone that they can't be reason with. At this point, confirmation bias has taken over their way of thinking. According to Wikipedia, confirmation bias is "the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses, while giving disproportionately less consideration to alternative possibilities."
In short, M-TP anti-fans will stop at nothing to try to find what they perceive as evidence that M-TP is a copycat based on their already established belief that he is one. That will never change.
