My girl Min from ST.319 is back with a hot new summer jam! Take me away, Min. Please, take me away! Take Me Away is the perfect end of summer song. As summer winds down every year, I am always filled with a sense of nostalgia, regret, and sadness. Take Me Away is a song that fills me with a sense of hope and energy. It's a song that I can get behind. Without further ado, lets get into talking about the MV for Take Me Away.

The Good

  • It's a summer themed MV.
  • Doggy!
  • 8-bit ending.
  • Good usage of sponsorship.

The Bad

  • It's a summer themed MV.
  • Doggy!
  • 8-bit ending.
  • Inaccurate depiction of car mechanics.

Personally, I love summer themed MVs. Take Me Away is a very well-done summer themed MV. However, summer themed MVs (Jessica's Fly, Taeyeon's Why, B1A4's Solo Day, etc.) are quite popular in the Kpop scene....which unfortunately opens the door for Vpop anti-fans and Kpop fanatics to continue to spew their agenda of hate. I love the fact that Take Me Away is a summer themed MV with a dog and 8-bit gaming elements, and yet I also hate the fact that it is a summer themed MV with a dog and 8-bit gaming elements. Why can't we have nice things in Vpop without getting mixed up in Kpop discussions?! I get it. Kpop did this and that. Kpop is great. Now calm down, and let me enjoy my Vpop. Is that okay?

Homeboy has never driven a car in his life.

Besides the inevitable Kpop comparisons, you know what also grinds my gears? Lazy editing and inaccurate depictions of the real world. I am a stickler for details. So when I see homeboy shifting the automatic Audi that he's driving from drive to park (to depict the idea that he's shifting into a higher gear to get away from the police), it triggers me. Perhaps the Vietnamese populace don't know much about car mechanics since most people drive motorbikes. Still, that's an obvious visual flaw for anyone who drives a car regularly to recognize. My immersion!!! Straight ruined!

Samsung with that next level tech!

Other than that, Take Me Away is an A++ music video in my book. Specifically, they did a good job in incorporating their sponsors in the MV in non-intrusive ways. Min was looking mighty fine in her sporty outfits. Thanks adidas! Taking underwater selfies with a Samsung Galaxy S7? Crazy! Maybe I should get a waterproof Samsung phone. What was that AU Mobile game that she was playing? That looks kind of cool. All this beach frolicking has gotten me in the mood to take a beach vacation. Maybe I should book a trip to Cam Ranh Riviera Beach Resort & Spa in Tra Nhang. Just like that, you got 'em! Marketing, son! Đông Nhi's team should take notes.
