Queue Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson...Yes, I know I have been MIA for a long time now without posting anything. I've been busy and wasn't particularly motivated to write about anything. Since a lot of new songs have been released and I don't have the time to cover everything in-depth, I am going to try to quickly blitz through every noteworthy song that I have heard in the last 2 months. Hang on to your butts because here we go! First up, I am going to cover my favorite type of Vpop song -- the upbeat ones.
I very much enjoy my EDM pop songs, and the boy Only C knows how to work that exact market. Performed by Only C and composed by his brother Nguyễn Phúc Thiện, everyday is a song that puts me in a good mood. I really enjoy watching the lyrics MV for this song since it brings back good memories of the time I got to experience an EDM concert in Vietnam. I have gone to many EDM festivals before, but there's something about being in the motherland and being that group of rowdy foreigners with my homeboys not giving a f*ck that was particularly fun. Vietnam, I miss you everyday.
Here's a another song about living it up. City Lights by Superbrothers and singer Châu Đăng Khoa is a song that makes me feel alive. It's a song that makes me want to go traveling again to go see the city lights of places that I have yet explored. It's a big big world out there, and here I am big city dreaming! ♫ I'm a big big girl in a big big world... ♫ Trish Thuy Trang knows what's up. It's an open world RPG out there. Why not go out there and explore it?
Let the good times roll! This new MV by rapper Đen Vâu featuring vocals from Tăng Ngân Hà and instrumentals from Maius Philharmonic is what I call a feel good song. Listening to Đi Theo Bóng Mặt Trời fills me with a certain sense of optimism and contentment that makes me want to get off my lazy ass to chase the sunrise of tomorrow. To quote Shia LaBeouf, "Don't let your dreams be dreams! Just do it!"
The best part of going to a live show or concert in my opinion is that you get to share your experience with other like-minded people. When everybody around you is having a good time, you end up having a good time also. To be part of that energy when your team wins on a last second score or when a massive EDM drop happens, it's an amazing feeling. It's like a drug. The energy of a crowd all in sync, all cheering for the same thing, all feeling good...FeelsAmazingMan. Life is too short to be unhappy all the time, so I like listening to songs like Chuyện Đời by JGKiD that puts me in an upbeat mood. That's just me though.
Get ready to FeelsBadMan because next up is a collection of nhạc buồn (sad songs) for all those out there who find emotional comfort from listening to songs that are super depressing. It's the Vietnamese way after all.
